Bowsprit work required

Now that it's time to head back to Kolibrie, we're thinking of the work ahead. This last season our bowsprit took quite a beating. It looks like the sprit needs work/replacing. The platform looks fine but we're concerned about the integrity of the sprit. I love standing on the bowsprit shooting pictures of those amazing dolphins as they swim along with us and race with us (yah I know no contest - Kolibrie is just so speedy). I don't think I've ever really posted pictures of the sprit. That might come in handy to have so people know what part of the boat I'm talking about. Here's 3 views - top, side, bottom.

Then of course there's new bottom paint, inside work (a lot) and we're ready to go!!! :)

  3. Unfortunately, yes we do still varnish the rub rails. They soooo need it - we do a lot of rubbing LOL. We varnish the rubrails and paint the bottom of the keel and both keep getting rubbed off :)

Ashley - yes that's where I stand to take those shots of the dolphins you liked or to look for coral heads so we don't run into them. Right now we're in the process of taking it off to replace it :(
