Fernandina Beach, Fl (N30 40.562/W081 28.188)
Blustery! Our warmth disappeared with the arrival of clear skies and a cold front. It was a dark and blustery night… but then it was a sliver, close to new moon – hence pretty dark and to be expected. We started out with weather alerts and wind advisories and got gusts of 30mph. I’m not sure what happened but at 2:15pm we heard a clank and splooosh. When we went topside our grill stand was empty. Neptune claimed our bbq grill. Oh no! I think the pelicans thought they were in for a feast!
We’re paying for that wonderful day yesterday. Swinging like crazy. At 4pm we dropped a second anchor. It’s the only way I’ll sleep tonight (even then I probably won’t).
