Well today is 12/12/12 It’s the last time we will see repeating numbers in our lifetime. When we started our venturing out on the boat we were going to start on 07/07/07 now it’s 12/12/12… fun, fun, fun…
We spent the early part of the day looking for my fids so I could re-splice our davit line which was becoming quite frayed. We had quite a downpour today. Ugh… I hate having to close the boat up when that happens but it’s either that or let everything get wet. It was even money today as to whether to leave the boat open or close up… closing up won. In the search for the fids (a tool used to work with ropes to connect them together or put permanent loops or eyes in them) we missed our noon o clock time of 12:12pm… I should have set my watch but didn’t think of it. Drats! It came and went unnoticed.
We walked over to the chancellery to see if they had any rope splicing tools but they didn’t so went over to Azaya’s to borrow their tools. I just don’t understand what happened to mine. I will have to get some more because I constantly seem to be splicing lines for something on the boat.
It took me a while to figure out how to do the braided line but I finally figured it out. Didn’t really get it finished. I was sitting in the cockpit working on it (its cooler up top then below) but started losing daylight. Sun sets around here close to 6:00pm our time. I decided to finish it up in the morning and went below to get some tuna salad sandwiches for dinner. Now it’s time for a little reading and computer time before calling it a day…
