Tuesday, February 07, 2012 Feels kinda like home here...

Man. It rained last night. I had to jump up and close all the hatches. It came down pretty good but it’s been so dry here. The downpour was really needed. They’re predicting showers and thunder showers on and off today so after checking out the weather (while sipping coffee) on Passage Weather, Accu-Weather, and NOAA, we decided that what’s one more day tacked onto our bill. I called Mary Clare to see what they thought and they were already out of Vero Beach and at our spot where we started to go into last year. Had me laughing. So they’re on their way. First one in buys the beer… I tried to call Barb and Klaus but their cell phone went immediately to voice mail so I don’t know if they’re on their way or not. Left a brief message then went back to my coffee.

Alex and Jesse came by calling “time to get up”.
It was time for our pump out… Yay!
An empty holding tank is a good thing, when you’re waiting for a weather opening at anchor!
After the pump out, I grabbed the spare keys we have and was going to give them to Eric and to get one last puppy pet in.
Eric was in the parking lot chatting with some folks so I just dropped them off and asked if his puppy was in the office? Yep. One last puppy fix. He asked if the keys were spare parts? Yep… I think they’re all Mercury parts… and no, they didn’t come from AJ…
He chuckled and said Oh, by the way I told AJ to quit pissing off my customers!
That made me laugh.
Gotta love Eric! He can be gruff, but he has to satisfy everyone at the same time. And, with a not so very large staff... He does what he can and he does good work. I do love the folks here. They’re pretty terrific and I love the family atmosphere that permeates through the marina. They’ve got long-time employees and patrons. That says a lot about a marina/work yard.
I'm going to try and totally forget my experience with the folks at Advantage Yacht Sales & Service here.
Gee it really is feeling like home. I wonder if I should be worried.

It’s muggy hot and I think I’ll make a salad for dinner. It looks like it’s clearing again too. I wonder if it’s safe to open the hatches before making dinner.

Chart plotter is programed for tomorrow, bridges and locks are channel 13 and 9… It must be finally time to go in the morning…
