Happy Ground Hog Day and HAPPY BIRTHDAY Tanner!

Thursday Feb 2nd

Got the motor outta the box and with Eric’s permission put it in the test tank to try it out. The lanyard that holds the shutoff key, had a clip on each end with no key though so we used the key from our old motor. It seemed kind of fat for the Colman, but it worked and so did the Colman. Yay!!!! Now all we need is the generator back and we can check out of the marina and be on our way and wait for a weather window to get across the Gulf Stream.

I called Dick’s to tell them about our missing key and they’re going to give us the one from the floor model (heck it’s just a casing anyhow – not like it’s gonna start or anything). Puttered around here trying to finish things up and organize then drove back to Dick’s (no small trip)

Went to pick up the missing motor key but this time found a different route (a little farther) that didn’t take us back onto the ramp of that toll road with no booths to pick up a ticket! I’d rather drive further, than go through that again and pay another $12 toll, then a $100 fine when I got home.
When we got back to the marina it was dark. I ran into Klaus between the boat and the fire pit. He looked like he was out walking and had been running (he was all sweaty and out of breath). I asked him if everything was okay. He had been out walking to burn off adrenaline… They got a call from home and need to go back tomorrow morning. Barb was on the boat & busy packing. They’re going to drive straight through to Toronto, some kind of emergency, then return. Gosh I hope everything is okay back home. They were going to do a crossing with us, but I guess that’s up in the air at this point.
